Who can join the AOH?

Membership in the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Inc. is confined to men 16 years and older who are practicing Catholics of Irish birth or descent and who are citizens of United States of America or who have declared their intentions to become citizens of the United States of America.

What are the Dues payments?

Our yearly dues payment is $35 per year, collected each January. Your initiation payment will be your dues payment, and that depends on when you join as follows:

  • 1st Quarter: pay $35 and your dues payment will be due January of following year
  • 2nd Quarter: pay $30 and your dues payment will be due January of following year
  • 3rd Quarter: pay $25 and your dues payment will be due January of following year
  • 4th Quarter: pay $35 which will be your dues payment for the current and following year. No payment will be due in January

When and Where are the Meetings?

We meet every 3rd Tuesday of each month except July and August. Meetings start at 8:00pm and are held at the Knights of Columbus Hall at 495 East Main St in Somerville.

Is it mandatory to attend the Meetings?

No, but we urge all members to attend to help run the division. Also, our meetings are short (less than an hour)to allow you some time for friendship and cheer with your fellow Hibernians! As usual, free beer, soda and wine.

Can I invite non-members to the Division's Social Activities?

Yes! We encourage members to bring their family and friends to our social events. However, non-members are not allowed to attend meetings unless they intend to join.

Do you have a Ladies AOH?

Yes! The local LAOH Division, Grainne O'Malley, has meetings on the 3rd Wednesday of each month at Mannion’s Pub and Restaurant, 150 West Main Street, Somerville. For more information about the Ladies AOH, please email LAOH

How do I Join?

If you know a member, ask him to give you an application and have him be your sponsor. If you don't know a member, go to the Join Us page and fill out the requested information. A letter and application will be sent to you.
